What Bridge does
Trezor Bridge acts as the local translator between a Trezor device and desktop apps or supported browsers. It handles local USB/HID connections and presents a secure HTTP/WebSocket interface for applications to interact with the device while ensuring operations require explicit confirmations on the hardware.
Security model
Because Bridge runs locally, it reduces network exposure: signing requests stay on the user’s machine and require direct user approval. Official Bridge and Trezor Suite implementations separate session contexts and use attestation checks to help prevent unauthorized commands.
Installation & troubleshooting
Official installers exist for major platforms and include diagnostics for common USB/driver issues. When problems occur, checking official status and support pages ensures you’re following recommended troubleshooting steps.
Important migration note
The standalone Bridge has been deprecated in favor of integrated Suite and modern web flows. Follow Trezor’s guidance for uninstalling legacy Bridge installations when instructed to avoid compatibility problems with newer releases.
Best practices
Always download software from official sources, keep firmware and apps updated, never share your seed, and prefer official libraries (like Trezor Connect) when building integrations.
